Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of Bayer Leverkusen's Andre Schurrle, subject to personal terms and the German passing a medical.
Schurrle is set to head straight to London to finalise the deal following his release from international duty for Germany in the USA
The 22-year-old is set to join the Europa League winners in a reported £20 million deal.
Bayer Leverkusen have signed South Korean forward Son Heung-min from Hamburg SV to replace Schuerrle.
The 20-year-old Son, who was outstanding last season, signed a five-year deal with Leverkusen, paving the way for Schuerrle's much-expected transfer to Chelsea.
"We made it clear from the start that a transfer of Schuerrle to Chelsea would only happen if an adequate sporting alternative was possible," said club boss Wolfgang Holzhaeuser.
"This alternative was now taken under contract with Son Heung-Min and so there is nothing blocking Andre Schuerrle's transfer from our side."
Schurrle has won 24 German caps, scoring seven goals. He started his career at Mainz, scoring 20 goals in 65 appearances before moving to Leverkusen before the 2011–12 season.
Versatile attacking midfielder Schuerrle scored 11 league goals last season.
